My Dream, My Business

I have always wanted to become an entrepreneur and own my business. I am special education teacher and enjoy helping shape children’s futures for success. However there has been a shift in my career after losing 100 pounds and my baby weight. I enjoy working out and trying different exercises, participating in races and meeting people that share their weight loss stories that is truly inspirational. I want to help moms lose weight and get fit. Often times we as oms don’t make ourselves a priority. I want to change that notion.

Last year, I embarked on my journey as a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine. I completed the online course with modules, a textbook and a study guide to prepare for the test. I studied it for six months, then I took the test and passed the test. In line with my dream of becoming an entrepreneur, I want to create a personal training business. I have the drive but I am not consistent enough in following through. To help me, I joined an online private network for moms that helps aspiring entrepreneurs and women that are established entrepreneurs. This network gives great advice and tips on how to improve and elevate your business to the next level. I took a phone call action session with a business coach to give me guidance.I always had great ideas but I didn’t know how to start.

That was the best investment because after the chat she gave me action steps for 30 days, 60 days, 3 months and 6 months. Also this summer I will be attending a retreat for moms to learn different things in workshops about establishing a business. After this I wrote my business plan that explained my purpose of the business and my goals. I added more social media platforms to the existing ones. I designed a blueprint for these social media activities. I am currently in the process of looking into creating a website and create business cards. There is so much behind the scenes that goes into creating a business that can be overwhelming and frustrating but is best to take one step at a time. I recently added a Twitter account to the already existing Instagram and Facebook accounts with the growing number of followers as the business grows. It has not been easy juggling this and with all the activities of being a mom
